NHS spotlights care sector as part of 70th anniversary
The NHS’ 70th celebration will highlight the role of the care sector in September.
Each month, the NHS has focused on a particular aspect of policies, and September is about recognising the HNS staff and community that delivers personal care. The significant contribution of volunteers in the care sector is also being highlighted.
Aspects of the NHS which have already been recognised include mental health, cancer and disabilities.
Other activities that have already taken place to mark the date include the NHS 10p coin which launched earlier the year. Part of a set celebrating the A-Z of what makes Britain great, the NHS joins other icons including Bond, Stonehenge and Tea.
